 1) What is the preferred reading of a media text? The preferred reading of this text would be that all young people are not disciplined and have no respect for the elderly of their community.

2) What is the oppositional reading of a media text? The oppositional reading would be that not all young people involve themselves with anti-social activities and that this movie is further trying to support the false idea that young people are not pro-social.

3) How does the Harry Brown trailer position the audience to respond to the teenage characters in the film? there is not a doubt that the young people in this trailer have committed heinous act which should never be done. in our society at the current moment

4) Why might young people reject this reading and construct an oppositional reading of the trailer? as they are apart of the wide community that is being negatively portrayed.

5) Write a 150+ word analysis of the McDonald's advert using preferred, negotiated and oppositional readings.

preferred: the preferred reading is that this McDonald’s burger will be extremely filling and delicious. That there is clear difference in taste and quality of the burger in comparison to its competitors- such as Burger King.It is also expected that the extensive description of the ingredients and flavour, should be the standard when received by all its customers.

Negotiated: People who might be middle class or working class may see this burger as an alternative to 4 star dining, as it’s being advertised with ‘class’
