Camerawork and editing

At the start of 0.18sec there is a cut, this is when a man on the train is holding a newspaper with the man who is being hunted, a cut between the realisation of a man who’s being hunted and a civilian on the same bus, in fact in close proximity, the suspense is created through the cut. The juxtaposition of the two characters in addition to the cut makes it seem like there’s an unseen link between the characters. We then go to 0.37secs where the is another basic cut. However, it provides an impact, the direct eye contact transitioning between the use of a straight cut creates an intense atmosphere as it subtly communicates to the audience that the movie was reach it peak soon.

. Handheld: camera held by hand, often shaky - at 2:25 is used to create realism, this happens as the handheld camera work gives the scene a rather raw and intense feel as the movement of the camera matches the pace of the action in the scene. As our main character is running from the people attempting to hunt him down, the camera perfectly captures the intense panic and fear our character posses- It also communicates to the audience the extra sense of urgency as well as keeps the scene interesting to watch.

Crane: Camera attached to crane – can pan, track or ‘swoop’ in or out as required- the camera movement is used throughout the entire scene as the genre is sci-if and action, at 2:25 the technique is used to emphasise the dramatic action and feel Rigourous.

Editing- during 2:34 the pace of editing increases Exponentially which is easily scene to the viewer, the effect of this is great as during the fight scene the quicker is clip is,the more intense the whole scene becomes.
