'Key Concepts film poster analysis'

Silence of the lambs : Film poster analysis.

Language-

As a consumer of the media, this form of Media is identifiable as a film poster due to the specific layout. The placement of every feature  is to communicate to consumers that this is a Film.

As seen on the poster, main Actors/Actresses names are printed on the face of the cover, despite in smaller lettering in comparison to the title, it is still noticeable which could incline more people to watch the Silence of the lambs as recognisable peoples names are presented.

What the text has in common with the girl's eyes is red, symbolizing bloody death and danger. This may indicate that violence and harm are associated with the girl in the photo.

Industries -

It may be rather difficult to spot the producers of this film as all information has been kept rather subtle as the lower half of the poster, possibly to not draw attention away from the poster itself. However if you are able to see it, The silence of the lambs is a Demme production film (amongst Orion pictures) which was produced by Johnathan Demme. Starring Anthony Hopkins.

The film itself brought in  $272,742,922.

Audience- fans of horror/thriller. Age - older teenagers - adults.

Representation- Reinforces stereotype of female victim.
